Amend SB 407 (Senate committee printing) by adding the 
following appropriately numbered SECTION  to read as follows and 
renumbering subsequent SECTIONS accordingly:
	SECTION __.  Notwithstanding any other law, a county that 
has a population of more than 280,000 and less than 300,000, or a 
municipality located wholly or partly in such a county, may not hold 
an election to adopt a tax under Chapter 326, Tax Code, as added by 
this Act, before January 1, 2008.
