BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

 

Fannin County desires to replace its county attorney with a criminal district attorney. This bill is intended to have such effect.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. 

 

ANALYSIS

 

The bill provides for the creation and election of a criminal district attorney in Fannin County, and prescribes duties and compensation for such office. The bill also provides for the abolition of the office of the county attorney of Fannin County.
