AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

Current law authorizes the judge of the 43rd District Court in Parker County to appoint one or more bailiffs as are necessary for the efficient administration of the judge's court.

 

H.B. 632 grants the judge of the 415th District Court the same authority given the judge of the 43rd District Court in Parker County to appoint bailiffs.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to any state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 53.002(b), Government Code, to authorize the judge of the 43rd District Court and the judge of the 415th District Court to each appoint one or more bailiffs that the judge believes are necessary for the efficient administration of the judge's court.

 

SECTION 2.  Effective date: September 1, 2007.
