BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

 

The purpose of the bill is to create an additional district court in Montgomery County.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. 

 

ANALYSIS

 

The bill amends the Government Code by adding a new section creating the 418th Judicial District.  The 418th District Court is required to give preference to family law maters.

 

EFFECTIVE DATE

 

September 1, 2007.
