BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Current law allows those with upper limb disabilities to use crossbows during an open archer season  However, many hunting enthusiasts believe that allowing the unfettered use of crossbows would increase interest in hunting and help provide for future generations of hunters and wildlife conservators.

C.S.H.B. 1334 would remove restrictions on the use of crossbows during archery season.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

C.S.H.B. 1334 does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency or institution.
