BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

 

Texas corporation laws have been reorganized so that newly created corporations are not formed with an instrument called the articles of incorporation. The purpose of this bill is to repeal a requirement under pre-codification law that a railroad corporation submit its articles of incorporation to the Attorney General.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. 

 

ANALYSIS

 

The bill repeals Article 6263, Revised Statutes and Subdivision 2, Article 6271, Revised Statutes.

 

EFFECTIVE DATE

 

Immediately on receipt of required vote; otherwise September 1, 2007.
