BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

 

On March of 2003, the Harris County Adult Guardianship Program was merged with Harris County Children's Protective Services, creating Harris County Protective Services for Children and Adults.  The bill updates statutory references to the entity.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. 

 

ANALYSIS

 

HB 1763 renames the Harris County Children's Protective Services Board, the Harris County Board of Protective Services for Children and Adults. 

 

The bill also redefines the term "board" as the Harris County Board of Protective Services for Children and Adults.

 

EFFECTIVE DATE

 

Effective date upon passage with two-thirds vote from each house, or 1 September 2007.
