AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

The Fort Bliss Museum and Study Center (museum), located in Fort Bliss, Texas, is dedicated to the history of the United States air defense system.  The museum is open for general use by the public.  In 2001, the legislature empowered the Texas Historical Commission (commission) to assist in the establishment and operation of the museum.  In 2002, the museum completed its planned renovations.  Because the renovations are complete, the authorized assistance is no longer necessary.

H.B. 2054 repeals the statute empowering the commission to assist in the establishment and operation of the museum.
