AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
Under current state statute, mobile food vending units are not required to complete daily cleaning and inspection. In order to maintain both sanitary and safe conditions these units should complete daily inspections.
C.S.H.B. 3672 requires mobile food vending units, operating in a county with a population of at least 2.8 million, to complete daily inspections and obtain written documentation that such inspections are completed.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS
SECTION 1. Amends Chapter 437, Health and Safety Code, by adding Section 437.0074, as follows:
Sec. 437.0074. MOBILE FOOD UNITS IN CERTAIN POPULOUS COUNTIES. (a) Requires a county with a population of at least 2.8 million, or a municipality or public health district in the county to require a mobile food unit (unit) to complete certain activities with regard to the daily servicing of the unit.
(b) Requires a county, municipality, or public health district that has installed an electronic tagging system to register and record confirmation that the unit has been serviced as required by Subsection (a)(1).
SECTION 2. Amends Section 37.01(2), Penal Code, to redefine "governmental record."
SECTION 3. Effective date: September 1, 2007.
