BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

 

The salaries of the juvenile board members of Parker County are currently capped at $6,000 a year.

 

H.B.3993 would increase this cap by requiring the commissioners' court to pay the juvenile board members an annual salary of not less than $6,000, payable in equal monthly installments from the general fund or any other available fund in Parker County.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. 

 

ANALYSIS

 

Amends Section 152.1901(c) of the Human Resources Code by providing that the commissioners court shall pay the juvenile board members an annual salary of not less than $6,000, payable in equal monthly installments from the general fund or any other available fund of the county. 

 

EFFECTIVE DATE

 

October 1, 2007.
