AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Current law regarding the compensation for judges of county courts at law in Nueces County cites specific courts and only requires compensation for certain, and not all, of the county courts at law.

H.B. 4007 requires equal compensation for all judges of county courts at law and amends the language of the statute to accommodate the addition of future county courts at law.

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
