AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Under current law, county court at law judges receive compensation for serving on the McLennan County Juvenile Board (board), however, those judges are not included as members of the board.

H.B. 4040 adds the county court at law judges to the list of members of the board.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 152.1611(a), Human Resources Code, to add the county court at law judges to the list of persons who compose the McLennan County Juvenile Board.

SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2007.
