AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

 

Current law requires that Guardianship Certification Board (board) members be appointed from throughout the state and meet four times annually.  Current law also prohibits board members from receiving reimbursement for travel expenses. 

 

S.B. 507 entitles board members to receive reimbursement for travel expenses and other actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of official board duties.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 111.011(g), Government Code, to provide that Guardianship Certification Board (board) members serve without compensation but are entitled, rather than not entitled, to reimbursement for travel expenses and other actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of official board duties, as provided by the General Appropriations Act.  Makes conforming changes.

 

SECTION 2.  Amends Section 111.012(b), Government Code, to make conforming changes.

 

SECTION 3.  Effective date: September 1, 2007.
