AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

The Commissioners Court of Montgomery County determined that it is in the best interest of Montgomery County to create an additional county court at law.

As proposed,  S.B. 928 creates County Court at law No. 5 of Montgomery County.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to any state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Amends Section 25.1721, Government Code, as follows:

Sec.  25.1721.  MONTGOMERY COUNTY.  Adds County Court at Law No. 5 of Montgomery County as a statutory county court for Montgomery County.

SECTION 2.  Effective date: September 1, 2007.
