BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

 

As proposed, S.B.1976 amends a technical error in the statute governing membership of the McLennan County Juvenile Board that requires the county to pay county court of law judges a supplement for serving on the board, but fails to include these judges as board members.

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. 

 

ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1.   Amends Section 152.1611(a) of the Human Resources Code, to provide that the                           McLennan County Juvenile Board is composed of the county judge, the district                            judges in McLennan County, and the judge of each county court at law.

 

SECTION 2.  The Act takes effect September 1, 2007.

September 1, 2007.
