AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

C.S.S.B. 1994 authorizes the Las Lomas Municipal Utility District No. 4 of Kaufman County to undertake road projects inside and outside of the district and rescinds the district's authority to undertake certain turnpike projects.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1. Amends Section 8138.102(a), Special District Local Laws Code, to delete existing text authorizing the Las Lomas Municipal Utility District No. 4 to construct, acquire, improve, maintain, or operate certain turnpikes, or improvements in aid of those turnpikes inside the district.  Deletes existing text requiring certain road projects of the district to be located inside the district.

SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2007.
