A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the electronic database of major state contracts. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2177.052(a), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) In this section, "major contract" means a contract that |
|
|
has a value that is expected to be at least $10,000 [$5 million] |
|
|
computed as the: |
|
|
(1) initial value of the contract; or |
|
|
(2) total value of the contract after all potential |
|
|
term extensions. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act to Section |
|
|
2177.052, Government Code, applies only to a major contract: |
|
|
(1) entered into on or after the effective date of this |
|
|
Act, for purposes of complying with Section 2177.052(c)(1), |
|
|
Government Code; and |
|
|
(2) in relation to which a request for proposal, |
|
|
invitation to bid, or comparable solicitation is made on or after |
|
|
the effective date of this Act, for purposes of complying with |
|
|
Section 2177.052(c)(2), Government Code. |

|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
