A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to notary public service at a vehicle storage facility. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 2303, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 2303.160 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 2303.160. NOTARY PUBLIC SERVICE. If the commission |
|
|
adopts rules requiring an owner of a vehicle to establish ownership |
|
|
or right of possession by presenting an affidavit to the operator of |
|
|
a vehicle storage facility, the operator of the vehicle storage |
|
|
facility shall provide notary public service at the facility during |
|
|
the operator's |
|
|
business hours. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
