A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the fee for issuance of specialty license plates to |
|
|
members of the United States armed forces. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 504.303, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(b) The fee for issuance of the license plates to a former |
|
|
member of the United States armed forces is: |
|
|
(1) $10 for the first set of license plates; and |
|
|
(2) $15 for each additional set of license plates. |
|
|
(c) The department shall issue or renew the license plates |
|
|
without charge to a person who on the date of issuance or renewal is |
|
|
an active member of the United States armed forces. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a registration period beginning on or after the effective date of |
|
|
this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
