A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the authority of a school district board of trustees to
  create a criminal offense for violation of a district policy.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 37.102(c), Education Code, is amended to
  read as follows:
         (c)  A person who violates [this subchapter or] any rule
  adopted under this subchapter providing for the operation and
  parking of vehicles on school property commits an offense. An
  offense under this section is a Class C misdemeanor.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
