A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the prosecution of the offense of the sale of |
|
|
prison-produced articles or products. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 497.010, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) It is an exception to the application of this section |
|
|
that the actor was an inmate or state jail defendant confined in a |
|
|
facility operated by or under contract with the department who sold |
|
|
or offered to sell an art or craft in the manner authorized under |
|
|
Section 501.013(b). |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies |
|
|
to an |
|
|
offense committed before, on, or after the effective date of this |
|
|
Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
