A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the minimum height required for guardrails on bridges |
|
|
or overpasses. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 472, Transportation Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subchapter E to read as follows: |
|
|
SUBCHAPTER E. CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE SPECIFICATIONS |
|
|
Sec. 472.041. GUARDRAILS. A guardrail constructed on a |
|
|
bridge or overpass located on a public road or highway in this state |
|
|
must be at least 36 inches in height. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to a |
|
|
guardrail that is constructed or replaced on or after the effective |
|
|
date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
