AN ACT
  relating to the name of the Brazos River Harbor Navigation District
  of Brazoria County and the name of its governing body.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Chapter 55, Acts of the 40th Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, 1927, is amended by adding Section 4e to read as
  follows:
         Sec. 4e. (a) The name of the Brazos River Harbor Navigation
  District of Brazoria County is changed to "Port Freeport."
         (b)  The name of the governing body of the Brazos River
  Harbor Navigation District is changed to the "Port Commission," and
  the name of each member of the Port Commission is changed to "Port
  Commissioner."
         (c)  A reference in law to the Brazos River Harbor Navigation
  District of Brazoria County means Port Freeport.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
