A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requirements for labeling certain drugs. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 431, Health and Safety |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 431.1125 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 431.1125. OTHER DRUG LABELING REQUIREMENTS. (a) The |
|
|
label of a drug must contain the following information printed in at |
|
|
least 8-point Times New Roman or Arial font: |
|
|
(1) the information required by Sections |
|
|
431.112(e)(2) and (k)(3); and |
|
|
(2) the information regarding cautionary statements |
|
|
required by Section 431.113(c)(2). |
|
|
(b) A drug that does not bear a label that complies with |
|
|
Subsection (a) is subject to all the provisions of this chapter |
|
|
applicable to a drug deemed to be a misbranded drug. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
