A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to certain information related to a peace officer included |
|
|
on the officer's driver's license. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 521.121, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) On the written request of a license holder who is a peace |
|
|
officer described by Article 2.12, Code of Criminal Procedure, the |
|
|
department shall substitute the address of the holder's duty |
|
|
location for the holder's residence address under Subsection |
|
|
(a)(3). The department shall prescribe the form of a request under |
|
|
this subsection and adopt any other rules necessary to implement |
|
|
this subsection. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
