A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the annual privilege fee required to be paid to the |
|
|
commissioner of the General Land Office by the grantee of an |
|
|
easement to use certain public land for certain purposes. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 51.298(d), Natural Resources Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) A higher annual privilege fee may be set by contract |
|
|
between the authorized officials and the grantee of the easement |
|
|
unless the grantee is an electric cooperative corporation. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a contract entered into on or after the effective date of this |
|
|
Act. A contract entered into before the effective date of this Act |
|
|
is governed by the law as it existed immediately before the |
|
|
effective date of this Act, and that law is continued in effect for |
|
|
that purpose. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
