A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to directing payment, after approval, of a certain unpaid |
|
|
claim of the City of Hondo; making an appropriation. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) The amount of $94,441.06 is appropriated out |
|
|
of the General Revenue Fund Account No. 0001 to the comptroller of |
|
|
public accounts for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2008, to |
|
|
pay the City of Hondo for electricity, water, and wastewater |
|
|
services rendered for Torres/Ney Unit between June 12, 2000, and |
|
|
July 10, 2000. |
|
|
(b) Before the claim described by Subsection (a) of this |
|
|
section may be paid from money appropriated by Subsection (a) of |
|
|
this section, the claim must be: |
|
|
(1) verified and substantiated by the comptroller of |
|
|
public accounts; and |
|
|
(2) approved by the attorney general. |
|
|
(c) If the claim described by Subsection (a) of this section |
|
|
has not been verified and substantiated by the comptroller of |
|
|
public accounts and approved by the attorney general before January |
|
|
1, 2008, the claim may not be paid from money appropriated by this |
|
|
Act. |
|
|
(d) To be paid, the claim described by Subsection (a) of |
|
|
this section must contain the information the comptroller of public |
|
|
accounts requires and must contain the specific reason for the |
|
|
claim. The claim described by Subsection (a) of this section must |
|
|
be accompanied by an invoice or other acceptable documentation of |
|
|
the unpaid account and any other information that may be required by |
|
|
the comptroller. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Subject to the conditions and restrictions in |
|
|
this Act, the comptroller of public accounts is authorized and |
|
|
directed to issue one or more warrants on the state treasury, as |
|
|
soon as possible following the effective date of this Act, in favor |
|
|
of the City of Hondo in a cumulative amount not to exceed the amount |
|
|
provided by Section 1(a) of this Act and shall mail or deliver to |
|
|
the appropriate representative of the City of Hondo one or more |
|
|
warrants in payment of the claim. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
