AN ACT
  relating to the pilot program providing for reduced undergraduate
  tuition during a term of the summer session at Texas A&M University.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Sections 54.0516(a), (b), (d), and (e),
  Education Code, are amended to read as follows:
         (a)  This section applies only to a resident undergraduate
  student enrolled for a term of the summer [term or] session at Texas
  A&M University.
         (b)  Tuition, other than tuition under Section 54.0513,
  charged to a student to whom this section applies is three-fourths
  of the amount otherwise provided by this subchapter, except that a
  student to whom this section applies may receive a reduction in
  tuition under this section for not more than one term of the summer
  session of not more than six weeks.
         (d)  This section applies only if the legislature
  specifically appropriates money to Texas A&M University for the
  state fiscal biennium ending August 31, 2009 [2007], to cover the
  tuition revenue lost to the institution by the application of this
  section.
         (e)  This section applies only to a term of the summer [term
  or] session in 2008 [2006 or 2007]. This section expires January 1,
  2009 [2008].
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
