A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to designating November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 662, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 662.104 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 662.104. LUNG CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. (a) November is |
|
|
Lung Cancer Awareness Month to increase awareness of lung cancer |
|
|
and encourage funding of research and more effective treatments. |
|
|
(b) Lung Cancer Awareness Month shall be regularly observed |
|
|
by appropriate activities in public schools and other places to |
|
|
increase the awareness of lung cancer and support for lung cancer |
|
|
research. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
