A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to entitling a person to request and obtain a copy of the |
|
|
person's driving record from any driver's license facility of the |
|
|
Texas Department of Public Safety. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 521, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 521.060 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 521.060. PROVIDING COPY OF INDIVIDUAL DRIVING RECORD. |
|
|
(a) A person is entitled to submit a written request for a copy of |
|
|
the person's driving record under Section 521.046 or 521.047, or a |
|
|
certified copy of the person's driving record under Section |
|
|
521.048, to any driver's license facility of the department. |
|
|
(b) As soon as possible after receipt of a written request |
|
|
for a driving record under Subsection (a) and payment of the |
|
|
appropriate fee, the driver's license facility to which the request |
|
|
was submitted shall provide the requested copy of the person's |
|
|
driving record. |

|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
