A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
relating to designating Farm-to-Market Road 2004 in Brazoria County |
|
the Jason Oliff Memorial Highway. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|
is amended by adding Section 225.068 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 225.068. JASON OLIFF MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. (a) The |
|
portion of Farm-to-Market Road 2004 located in Brazoria County is |
|
designated as the Jason Oliff Memorial Highway. |
|
(b) The department shall design and construct markers |
|
indicating the highway number, the designation as the Jason Oliff |
|
Memorial Highway, and any other appropriate information. |
|
(c) Except as provided by Subsection (d), the department |
|
shall erect a marker at each end of the highway and at appropriate |
|
intermediate sites along the highway. |
|
(d) The department is not required to design, construct, or |
|
erect a marker under this section unless a grant or donation of |
|
public or private funds is made to the department to cover the cost |
|
of the design, construction, and erection of the marker. |
|
(e) Money received under Subsection (d) shall be deposited |
|
to the credit of the state highway fund. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
