A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to cancellation or suspension of an alcoholic beverage |
|
license or permit. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 11.65, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is |
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 11.65. NOTICE OF CANCELLATION OR SUSPENSION. (a) A |
|
notice of cancellation or suspension of a license or permit shall be |
|
given to the licensee or permittee as provided by Section 2001.142, |
|
Government Code [personally or by registered or certified mail]. |
|
(b) Cancellation or suspension is final and effective as |
|
provided by Section 2001.144, Government Code [takes effect when
|
|
the notice is given or delivered]. |
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
to notice of a cancellation or suspension of an alcoholic beverage |
|
license or permit given on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|
A notice given before the effective date of this Act is governed by |
|
the law in effect immediately before that date, and that law is |
|
continued in effect for that purpose. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
