A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the audit of a county jail's commissary operations. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 511.016(a), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) Each county auditor shall provide the commission with a |
|
|
copy of the auditor's [quarterly] audit of the county jail's |
|
|
commissary operations and a copy of the annual financial audit of |
|
|
general operations of the county jail. The county auditor shall |
|
|
provide a copy of an audit not later than the 10th day after |
|
|
completing the audit. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
