A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to information displayed on a disabled parking placard.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 681.0031(b), Transportation Code, is amended to read as follows:

(b) The county assessor-collector shall record [the first four digits of the number followed by the initials of the applicant] on any disabled parking placard issued to the applicant the following information in the following order:

(1) the county number assigned by the comptroller to the county issuing the placard;

(2) the first four digits of the applicant's driver's license number; and

(3) the applicant's initials.

SECTION 2. This Act applies only to a disabled parking placard issued on or after the effective date of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
