A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to certain security technology at unmanned teller |
|
|
machines. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 59.310, Finance Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b-1) The rules may provide for a system under which a |
|
|
customer, by entering the customer's personal identification |
|
|
number in reverse order at an unmanned teller machine, including a |
|
|
machine exempted from the other provisions of this subchapter by |
|
|
Section 59.302(2), may notify a local law enforcement agency for |
|
|
the jurisdiction in which the machine is located of a security |
|
|
problem at the machine or limit the amount of money that may be |
|
|
withdrawn from the machine by use of the customer's access device. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
