A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to continuing educational requirements of a justice of the |
|
|
peace who is a licensed attorney. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 27.005, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) A justice of the peace who is a licensed attorney and who |
|
|
completes continuing legal education requirements during a year to |
|
|
remain an active member of the state bar for that year may credit |
|
|
the continuing legal education hours for that year toward the |
|
|
requirements of Subsection (a)(2). |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
