A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
| |
|
|
relating to gifts and grants for financing or assisting the |
|
|
operation of the office of county attorney in Brown County. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 45, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 45.125 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 45.125. BROWN COUNTY. The county attorney of Brown |
|
|
County or the Commissioners Court of Brown County may accept gifts |
|
|
or grants from any individual, partnership, corporation, trust, |
|
|
foundation, association, or governmental entity for the purpose of |
|
|
financing or assisting the operation of the office of county |
|
|
attorney in Brown County. The county attorney shall account for and |
|
|
report to the county auditor all gifts and grants accepted under |
|
|
this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
