A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to gifts and grants for financing or assisting the
  operation of the office of county attorney in Brown County.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter B, Chapter 45, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 45.125 to read as follows:
         Sec. 45.125.  BROWN COUNTY. The county attorney of Brown
  County or the Commissioners Court of Brown County may accept gifts
  or grants from any individual, partnership, corporation, trust,
  foundation, association, or governmental entity for the purpose of
  financing or assisting the operation of the office of county
  attorney in Brown County. The county attorney shall account for and
  report to the county auditor all gifts and grants accepted under
  this section.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
