A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to operation of a motor vehicle equipped with a blue light. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 547.305, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (c-1) to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(c) A person may not operate a motor vehicle equipped with a |
|
|
red[,] or white[, or blue] beacon, flashing, or alternating light |
|
|
unless the equipment is: |
|
|
(1) used as specifically authorized by this chapter; |
|
|
or |
|
|
(2) a running lamp, headlamp, taillamp, backup lamp, |
|
|
or turn signal lamp that is used as authorized by law. |
|
|
(c-1) A person may not operate a motor vehicle, other than |
|
|
an authorized emergency vehicle, equipped with a blue light. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
