A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the issuance of Legion of Merit specialty license plates.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, is amended by adding Section 504.316 to read as follows:

Sec. 504.316. LEGION OF MERIT MEDAL RECIPIENTS. (a) The department shall issue specialty license plates for persons who have received the Legion of Merit medal. The license plates must include the words "Legion of Merit."

(b) The fee for issuance of the license plates is:

(1) $10 for the first set of license plates; and

(2) $15 for each additional set of license plates.

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
