A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the submission of ad valorem tax rolls to certain taxing
units.
       BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
       SECTION 1.  Amend Sec. 26.01(e), Tax Code, to read as
follows:
       (e)  By June 7, the chief appraiser shall prepare and certify
to the assessor for each [school district] county, city and school
district participating in the appraisal district an estimate of the
taxable value of [school district] property in that taxing unit.
The chief appraiser shall assist each taxing unit [school district]
in determining values of [school district] property for the taxing
unit's [school district's] budgetary purposes.
       SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
