A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the applicability of restrictions on the representation |
|
|
of a person before a state regulatory agency by a former employee of |
|
|
the agency. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 572.054(c), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) Subsection (b) applies only to: |
|
|
(1) a state officer of a regulatory agency; or |
|
|
(2) a state employee of a regulatory agency who is |
|
|
compensated, as of the last date of state employment, at or above |
|
|
the minimum amount prescribed by the General Appropriations Act for |
|
|
[step 1,] salary group B15 [17,] of the position classification |
|
|
salary schedule, including an employee who is exempt from the |
|
|
state's position classification plan. |
|
|
SECTION 2. (a) The change in law made by this Act applies |
|
|
only to an offense committed on or after September 1, 2007. For |
|
|
purposes of this section, an offense is committed before September |
|
|
1, 2007, if any element of the offense occurs before that date. |
|
|
(b) An offense committed before September 1, 2007, is |
|
|
covered by the law in effect when the offense was committed, and the |
|
|
former law is continued in effect for that purpose. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
