A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the authority of certain municipalities to delegate the |
|
|
approval of change orders. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 252.048, Local Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c-1) The governing body of a municipality with a population |
|
|
of 500,000 or more may: |
|
|
(1) grant general authority to an administrative |
|
|
official of the municipality to approve a change order involving a |
|
|
decrease or an increase of $100,000 or less; and |
|
|
(2) by ordinance lower the $100,000 limit set by |
|
|
Subdivision (1). |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
