A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the adoption by the Department of Family and Protective
Services of standardized forms for use by foster parent applicants,
child-placing agencies, and department caseworkers in submitting
required information to the department.
       BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
       SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 264, Family Code, is
amended by adding Section 264.014 to read as follows:
       Sec. 264.014.  STANDARDIZED FORMS FOR CERTAIN INFORMATION
REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED TO DEPARTMENT. The department shall adopt
standardized forms for use by foster parent applicants,
child-placing agencies, and department caseworkers to submit
required information to the department. The standardized forms
must be attached to each document provided to a foster parent
applicant, child-placing agency, or department caseworker by the
department that contain standards relating to the information
required to be submitted to the department.
       SECTION 2.  The Department of Family and Protective Services
shall adopt and make available the standardized forms required by
Section 264.014, Family Code, as added by this Act, as soon as
practicable after the effective date of this Act.
       SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
