A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to an offense of operation of a golf cart by an |
|
|
unaccompanied person under 14 years of age on a public beach. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter I, Chapter 545, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 545.4241 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 545.4241. OPERATION OF GOLF CART BY PERSON UNDER 14 |
|
|
YEARS OF AGE ON PUBLIC BEACH. A person under 14 years of age may not |
|
|
operate a golf cart, as defined by Section 502.001, on a public |
|
|
beach unless the person is accompanied in the manner required by |
|
|
Section 521.222(d)(2) for the holder of an instruction permit |
|
|
operating a motor vehicle on a highway. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
