A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
| |
|
|
relating to limitations on the compensation of county auditors for |
|
|
certain counties. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 152.032(d), Local Government Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) Except as provided by Subsection (b), in a county with a |
|
|
population of more than 77,000 and less than 80,000, or 500,000 or |
|
|
more the amount of the compensation and allowances of a county |
|
|
auditor may be set in an amount that exceeds the limit established |
|
|
in Subsection (a) if the compensation and allowances are approved |
|
|
by the commissioners court of the county. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
