A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to minimum standards for school bus operators. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 521.022, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding subsection (d)-(1) to read as follows |
|
|
(d-1) A standard adopted by the department shall not provide |
|
|
a persons driving record as acceptable if the person has been |
|
|
convicted of an offense under Sections 49.04, 49.045, 49.07, or |
|
|
49.08, Penal Code, within ten years of the date of the driving |
|
|
record evaluation. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
