A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to classifying llamas and alpacas as livestock.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 1.003, Agriculture Code, is amended to read as follows:

Sec. 1.003. DEFINITIONS. In this code:

(1) "Commissioner" means the commissioner of agriculture.

(2) "Department" means the Department of Agriculture.

(3) "Livestock" means cattle, horses, mules, asses, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, and hogs, unless otherwise defined.
