A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the statutory probate court of Collin County.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 25.0453, Government Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
         (g)  Notwithstanding any other law, on the request of a judge
  of a statutory probate court, a judge of a statutory county court in
  Collin County may serve for the requesting judge and hear cases,
  other than contested matters, pending in that judge's court when
  that judge is absent, disabled, or disqualified. The authority
  provided by this section applies regardless of whether the court
  the statutory county court judge ordinarily serves has jurisdiction
  of the types of cases pending in the statutory probate court for
  which the judge is requested to serve.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
