A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a museum and visitor's center at San Felipe State |
|
|
Historic Site in the Stephen F. Austin State Park. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) Not later than September 1, 2008, the Texas |
|
|
Historical Commission shall coordinate with the Texas Parks and |
|
|
Wildlife Department, the General Land Office, and the Bob Bullock |
|
|
Texas State History Museum, to develop a detailed plan, including |
|
|
the architectural design and a budget, for a historical museum and |
|
|
visitor center located at or near a historically significant |
|
|
location at the San Felipe State Historic Site, located within the |
|
|
Stephen F. Austin State Park. |
|
|
(b) Not later than December 1, 2008, the Texas Historical |
|
|
Commission shall submit a report to the governor, lieutenant |
|
|
governor, and speaker of the house of representatives on the plan. |
|
|
The report must include a description of any resources necessary to |
|
|
implement the plan. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
