A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to a museum and visitor's center at San Felipe State
Historic Site in the Stephen F. Austin State Park.
       BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
       SECTION 1.  (a) Not later than September 1, 2008, the Texas
Historical Commission shall coordinate with the Texas Parks and
Wildlife Department, the General Land Office, and the Bob Bullock
Texas State History Museum, to develop a detailed plan, including
the architectural design and a budget, for a historical museum and
visitor center located at or near a historically significant
location at the San Felipe State Historic Site, located within the
Stephen F. Austin State Park.
       (b)  Not later than December 1, 2008, the Texas Historical
Commission shall submit a report to the governor, lieutenant
governor, and speaker of the house of representatives on the plan.
The report must include a description of any resources necessary to
implement the plan.
       SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2007.
