A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a museum and visitor's center at Stephen F. Austin State |
|
|
Park. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) Not later than September 1, 2008, the Parks |
|
|
and Wildlife Department and the Texas Historical Commission shall |
|
|
develop a detailed plan, including the architectural design and a |
|
|
budget, for a historical museum and visitor center located at a |
|
|
historically significant location in Stephen F. Austin State Park. |
|
|
(b) Not later than December 1, 2008, the Parks and Wildlife |
|
|
Commission and the Texas Historical Commission shall submit a |
|
|
report to the governor, lieutenant governor, and speaker of the |
|
|
house of representatives on the plan. The report must include a |
|
|
description of any resources necessary to implement the plan. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
